Grand Junction, CO - Next week kicks off the annual Stuff the Bus school supply donation drive, sponsored by Townsquare Media!
If you have new school supplies to contribute for local children, simply drop them off in the white activity bus located in Clock Court at Mesa Mall. The donation drive will run from Monday, July 10 through Monday, July 31.
On Tuesday, Aug. 1, at 10 a.m., volunteers will gather to unpack the bus and organize the supplies into boxes designated for each elementary and middle school. Monetary donations made for Stuff the Bus will directly support high schools and can be contributed through the D51 Foundation website at d51foundation.org/stuff-the-bus.
Once the Stuff the Bus drive concludes, parents in need of supplies can request assistance by contacting the office staff at their child's school.
To access school supply lists, please visit d51schools.org. The most sought-after supplies include pencils, colored pencils, markers, crayons, composition notebooks, spiral notebooks, folders, glue sticks, scissors, Kleenex boxes, erasers, headphones, and Ziploc bags.
It is important to note that 45% of District 51 students reside in households that meet federal income requirements for free or reduced-price school meals. Back to School shopping can be a challenging undertaking for many of these families. Your generous donations can make a significant difference in the lives of our students!
