Preschool applications by email during closure
Grand Junction, CO - Normally, the process to apply for a D51 preschool spot includes going to the Hawthorne Building and filling out an application in person. During the district-wide building closure (currently set to run through April 19, 2020, with schools opening on April 20), that will not be possible. However, the D51 Early Childhood Education Department has a contingency plan.

COVID-19 Updates

D51 schools and buildings closed through April 30.

April 2, 2020

4:38 p.m.
With the statewide closure of school buildings now extended through the end of the month, we know some of you may be anxious to pick up medications, especially life-saving ones like inhalers and EpiPens. If your child has medication at his or her school, there are two opportunities for pick up this coming week:

Tuesday, April 7, anytime between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Wednesday, April 8, anytime between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Please bring an ID with you to the school, and a staff member will bring your child’s medication to you. In order to protect the health of families and staff, you should remain in your car at all times during the checkout process. However, if your child’s school office does not have a clear view of the parking area and you are waiting, you are welcome to come to the office window or door and knock.

Please contact your school if you have any questions, and stay healthy.

Please continue to check our COVID-19 Updates page for detailed updates as they become available.
