Grand Junction, CO – School District 51 families can submit School of Choice applications for the 2019-20 school year starting at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2019, at d51schools.org/schoolofchoice. The application window will close at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2019.

School of Choice is a process that allows families to apply for the chance to have a student attend a school outside his or her attendance boundaries. The School of Choice process is NOT for schools or programs with a separate application process, including Dual Immersion Academy, Independence Academy, Juniper Ridge Community School, New Emerson, R-5 High, the East’s Challenge Program, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at Palisade High.

Parents/guardians must have a ParentVUE account to apply for School of Choice. Any potential applicant without a ParentVUE account can talk to their child’s current school and register for an account or, if the child is not currently a D51 student, visit d51schools.org/schoolofchoice starting March 1 for instructions.

Principals will notify families on or before April 5, 2019, of their application status (acceptance or denial). If the parent/guardian receives notice of acceptance, they must sign and return the letter of commitment no later than April 30, 2019, to be accepted into the receiving school.
