Grand Junction, CO – School District 51 would like to remind families that they can apply for Free and Reduced Meal benefits at any time during the year if they experience a change in income or job status, whether temporary or permanent. This includes families financially impacted by the federal government shutdown. Visit this page for more information about the Free and Reduced Meal program, including income qualifications and application instructions.

If your family’s financial situation has changed since school started, and your children are not currently on the Free & Reduced Meal program, please submit an application with your current income information. Applications can be submitted online at www.myschoolapps.com.

School districts are reimbursed for free and reduced-price school meals through the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The USDA has assured school districts that Child Nutrition Programs, including the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program, will continue operations at least into February.
