current high school dividing lineGrand Junction, CO - A survey to gather input on potential changes to the boundary between Fruita Monument and Grand Junction high schools is now live. Please click here to take the survey. The survey closes on Dec. 18, 2020.

District 51's demographer is hosting three meetings to discuss boundary change possibilities. One possibility adds the Scenic and Broadway elementary school attendance areas to GJHS boundaries. Another also adds part of the Wingate attendance area. No changes have yet been approved by the D51 School Board. Any changes would not impact students currently attending GJHS or FMHS. The map with this article shows the current boundary line.

A meeting for Fruita Monument parents and parents from its feeder schools took place Nov. 16. A meeting for Grand Junction High School parents and parents from its feeder schools will take place Dec. 8. A second chance to discuss the boundary changes if you missed the first two meetings will take place Dec. 9.

All meetings will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. via Zoom. Email communicate@d51schools.org to RSVP and receive a link to the meeting you would like to attend.

The district is gathering input through the meetings and the survey from parents and community members to see whether they would prefer one of two boundary change proposals or adding modulars to FMHS to absorb projected growth. To view the Zoom meeting presentation, click here.
