possible new boundariesGrand Junction, CO - A survey to gather input on potential changes to the boundaries of Appleton, Pomona, and Tope elementary schools is now live. Please click here to take the survey. The survey closes on Dec. 18, 2020.

District 51's demographer is hosting three meetings to discuss boundary change possibilities - one on Nov. 16 for Tope parents, one on Dec. 2 for Appleton parents, and one on Dec. 3 for Pomona parents. Each meeting will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. via Zoom. Email communicate@d51schools.org to RSVP and receive a link to the meeting you would like to attend.

Proposed changes could send future Appleton students south of G Road to Pomona Elementary instead, and future Pomona students south of Interstate 70 east of 26 Road could go to Tope Elementary instead. No changes have yet been approved by the D51 School Board. Any changes would not impact the children currently attending any of the three schools.

The district is gathering input about the proposed changes through the meetings and the survey. The meetings include a presentation that shows where current Appleton students may be shifted to Pomona, and where some Pomona students may be shifted to Tope.
