D51 welcomes third cohort of apprentices

Grand Junction, CO - District 51 celebrated entering the upcoming third school year with the CareerWise Youth Apprenticeship Program with an Apprenticeship Luncheon on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at Factory, 750 Main St.

Apprentices spend three years (part in high school, part in a post-secondary program) working part-time at a job they love in an industry they love. District 51 is one of a handful of pilot districts in Colorado that began participating in the apprenticeship program at the start of the 2017-18 school year.
