Attention DOL 2020-2021 Graduates!

Hello DOL Seniors, Junior Early Grads, and families!!

UNC is offering FREE App day on December 1st!  For more information, visit their website.

We are super excited to help you all with preparing for graduation and developing a solid plan for you after you receive your diploma.  We are also collaborating with your home schools and we need some very important information from you ASAP!!

Please log in to ClassLink and use the link below to complete your Senior and Junior Early Grad students' DOL ICAP.  Thank you for completing this Google Survey by Friday 11/6, but the sooner the better!  Please answer the questions to the best of your ability with your thinking of "at this time".  We understand that things are often changing and uncertain this year, so please understand that you are not "locked-in" to any plans, we just want to use this information to support you with your Graduation Preparation Review and Post Graduation Career and College Planning.

We will also be sharing this valuable information with your home schools to keep them in the loop as you will participate in graduation activities with your home school.  Students will receive a copy of this plan mailed to their D51 email address once the survey is submitted. Please Contact DOL Counselors Tricia Burns or Stacey Keever if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you and stay safe and healthy!!

Welcome to D51 Online School

We are excited to have you and your student as part of our program. Our staff are committed to creating a dynamic experience as they partner with students and families to provide a great online school experience. D51 Online’s approach to learning gives students control over their education and puts them in the driver’s seat. Our online learning platforms offer rigorous but engaging learning opportunities for students.

We know there are several burning questions on your minds right now. Here are a few things you need to know:

● Classes start on Monday, August 24.

● If students need a chromebook, they may check those out from their home school on Aug.19th thru the 21st. Please contact your home school for specific instructions on how to check out a chromebook.

● We are working hard getting all our families enrolled into the Online Program. Look for an email with your students’ schedule late next week.

● Online curriculum is not the same as in-person instruction. Students will likely take 5 classes each. We will focus on the four main contents; ELA, math, science, and social studies. MS students will also have an advisory class. HS students will have one elective class that meets a graduation requirement.

● We hope to offer AP courses for HS students that were enrolled in AP through their home school. We are working with Colorado Digital Learning Solutions to accomplish this.

● D51 Online HS students may receive elective credits for work hours.

● D51 Students may participate in sports and extracurricular activities provided at their home schools as long as they remain eligible.

● Our website is currently under construction, but we’ll let you know as soon as it’s ready!

At D51 Online, we place a high value on our partnerships with parents, guardians, and families and we invite you to be a part of helping your child achieve their full potential. Parents/guardians and families are a vital part of the student’s educational team. You contribute greatly to the success of your student at D51 Online. We value family and the role that it plays in the education of our students. You are truly your student’s first teacher. We look forward to partnering with you.
